The SET4NPL project is dedicated to expanding and digitalizing the country’s public charging network. Good, reliable, and easily accessible public charging infrastructure is the backbone of electric road mobility. And the setting up of public chargers can actually be a business opportunity.
Setting up a public charging station next to your business will draw in more customers. This could for example be the case for roadside restaurants or stores, offering additional income through the charging fees and extra demand for the core business.
This is why SET4NPL will not just start building the infrastructure but will involve private sector for contribution of financing and expertise. To guarantee the technical soundness of charging stations and availability of maintenance SET4NPL conducted a public tender in 2024 shortlisting a supplier of charging stations supported by the project. Yatri Design Studio Pvt. Ltd. has been shortlisted through this tender.
SET4NPL will support public charging stations through the launch of several reverse auction tenders for public charging infrastructure. Private sector stakeholders and especially businesses are asked to hand in their financial and technical requirement proposals. The bidders that provide technical sound applications and the highest financial input will be the winners. In case the financial inputs by winning bidders will not be enough to cover the respective charging station(s), the SET4NPL project will cover the cost difference.
This process aims to assure ownership of bidders and the sustainable expansion of the public charging network.
What’s more, all SET4NPL-supported charging stations are connected to a digital ecosystem which provides easy access and a seamless charging process to all EV users. For charging station operators, the digital features include a simplified online management of all owned chargers including payment processing and notifications for maintenance requirements.
